Accept For Me
I have to admit I have become so disheartened with the course my country and countrymen/women have taken. I have forced myself to limit the amount of media input I receive and when I do watch the evening news, I have to video record myself afterwards to gauge my frustration level so that I don't blow up and verbally assassinate my family. Where to start? First, I recently read that, in some communities, municipal government officials have attempted to mandate acceptance through official decree. I can't even start to explain how unconstitutional this is. Last I heard, the United States Constitution protected my views and religion and gave me the tools whereby to protect them. Notice I used the past tense, long before any of us were born Americans that built America put pen to paper and set in stone our way of life and freedom. Before these Americans penned the most important document of our history, God, I can say God because it's my Blog, created this way of life. I extrapolate this theory because of the human instinct to not be held captive. This means we were created this way. I am curious how the public opinion would sway if Conservative government elects decree that all households will contain one King James Bible and a handgun. Seems foolish doesn't it? Now think how foolish it sounds to Christian Ministers that they must submit all sermons for approval and that they perform same sex wedding ceremonies or face jail time. I really don't care what an individual does behind closed doors or who they do it with, I do, however, care if someone makes me like it. Truth be told, I can hate anything or anyone I choose. I do not require license or justification to hate, dislike or discriminate against any person. I'm not a racist person at all, nor do I condone racist attitude or actions, however, I believe all people discriminate. The human brain is wired for a pack or group mentality and in the course of life, this is influenced by experience and social norms developed in the packs. I don't walk at night through a park in high crime areas by myself, not because I hate the people that might be there but because I have been attacked in this situation. The perpetrators of this assault happened to be Hispanic, this doesn't mean that I hate all Hispanics, it means that I hate the people that assaulted me. Does this story sound like it happened in an urban area? No, this assault happened in a town with less than five hundred residents and I was eleven. I am almost certain that if everybody read this, I would be accused of hating Hispanics. Nothing could be further from the truth, some of my best friends growing up were Hispanic and a few were African Americans. That being said, I do not believe that I should be forced to accept a lifestyle that I find morally wrong. I don't hate them or wish them harm or misfortune, I just simply wouldn't accept it as natural. I have, however, been cursed at and yelled at because I have my own opinion on the subject. I have also been verbally assaulted concerning my size and weight by the same people that were upset by my opinions of morality. Brilliant!
Class Dismissed
Well, where to begin? So many things have happened in recent months that caused me irritation. The election for one left me enraged and confused. I still find it impossible to understand how the very people that tell the government to let them make their own decisions, want a government that will catch them when they fail and tell them how to live their lives. How do I come to this conclusion you ask? Well the current administration has no problem telling me that I must purchase a service, then they call it a tax? I thought a tax was only to be levied by the government, not by a for profit insurance company. Then the same administration starts spouting about the "lower, middle, and upper" class. Did I miss that day in U.S. History when they taught the preamble to the Constitution as "We the middle class of the United States in order to form a more perfect socialist state"? No, ALL men are created equal. I have the same rights and responsibilities as every other citizen of this country. Contrary to popular opinion, a citizen of this country cannot be singled out to pay more than his or her equal share of taxes simply because he makes more money than another. Isn't that taxation without equal representation? After all, that person only has one vote, why is he taxed more than the rest of the population. Buried deep in the answer to that question is the definition of political persecution. Yes this country has a monstrous white elephant in the middle of the D.C. Beltway that nobody wants to talk about. Politicians only want to feed us enough information to keep us ignorant to what they are really doing. We, collectively, have no sense of ourselves in the big picture. Too many people care only about their smart phones and physical appearance, or what car they drive. Personally, if you think the only way you can get my attention is to flash your Mont Blanc pen and your new Iphone, then I don't want to waste my time on you. If you think that someone gives a hairy rat about anybody but themselves, you are naive and should give yourself a good wake up slap across the face. The President re-elect was re-elected because he pandered to the largest concern of each of us, what he can do for us as individuals. Recently it has become acceptable to be greedy for someone else's money but not acceptable to be greedy for our own. True, when the pilgrims established a colony in the "new world", it was a socialist idea. Profit was not permitted, in fact was punishable by death. This is not what our constitution was written to protect. All of us are only entitled to life liberty and pursuit of happiness. Nowhere does it say guarantee of happiness, nor does it redistribute my money to someone that can't or has given up trying to find a job. Not one "Founding Father" ever mentioned anything about the "American Dream", that expression was made up by businesses to try to sell you something. The American Dream is to serve your fellow countrymen and to in fact shake your finger in the face of ANYONE that does not take your opinion or views seriously simply because it is shared by a political party that they disagree with. The repetitive discussion of classes is not only idiotic but damaging. The first step of totalitarianism is to point to a group of people and convince the public that "they" are to blame for your lot in life, that it's "their" fault that you haven't achieved your goals. Grow UP, and take responsibility for your actions.
